Create Share Love | Queue Check March 2018

Welcome to my second queue check this year. I completed one project in the past four weeks (this pair of socks) and started a handful of new ones. I have two knitting projects on my needles right now and a few sewing projects which I already cut out.

So, these are the projects I'm currently working on:

LINEN SWEATER (top photo): I made some progress on this one. With this thinner yarn and that stitch it really takes forever to get some length. I hope to finish the back in the next few weeks and start with the front. // Link to Project Page on Ravelry

BELLOWS CARDIGAN (bottom photo): I made my swatch, decided which size to knit and started with the back. This wool/cotton yarn is such a joy to work with. And I'm also super fast because you hold two strands together while you knit. // Link to Project Page on Ravelry

Last week I also started with a few sewing projects. I had about 2m of medium weight jersey in my stash and decided to make another Hemlock Tee (yay for free patterns) although I didn't like my first version that much (I think the fabric wasn't the right choice). I always get super inspired, whenever I scroll the hashtag #hemlocktee on Instagram, so I'm giving it another try. With the same jersey I also cut out another Adventure Tank (Muscle Tee version) from Fancy Tiger Crafts. I really love this pattern. I lengthen the original pattern by 2.5" and now it's pretty perfect. Here is a photo of me wearing one I already made.

The third sewing project that I already cut out is another Willow Tank from Grainline Studio in a beautiful linen fabric. I already did two of these and I reach for them all the time (I really want to try out the dress version sometime soon). I also made some adjustments to it because I didn't like the wide hem it has: First I followed this tutorial to crop the pattern (which shortened it by 3") and then I lengthen it by 4" again. So my version is 1" longer than the original one.

I didn't make any progress on my Tamarack Jacket though.

  • Hemlock Tee pattern by Grainline Studio in medium weight dark gray cotton jersey fabric. The pattern is free, when you sign up for their newsletter.
  • Adventure Tank (Muscle Tee version) from Fancy Tiger Crafts in medium weight dark gray cotton jersey fabric
  • Linen sweater pattern from my local wool shop in Solo Lino from Lana Grossa color 02
  • Bellows pattern by Michele Wang in O-Wool Balance color Graphite
  • Tamarack Jacket pattern by Grainline Studio in black cotton fabric. The lining is quilting cotton I had in my stash forever.

P.S. I'm super excited for the new book collaboration between Grainline Studio and Madder. I pre-ordered their new book "Uniform - knit & sew" and can't wait for it to arrive. It's a collection of two patterns (one knitting pattern and one sewing pattern) with lots of options how you can modify it to your taste.
