One Little Word® 2017 | November

One month left with my One Little Word® Balance. The journey this year was a good one and it definitely changed me in some ways. December will be the last month with this word, before I start again with a new word in 2018. I already picked my word for next year which will be something totally different than the words I picked so far. I'm super excited to share more about it soon on my blog. 

But today I want to share my November pages with you. November was all about writing a letter to ourselves. I talk about how proud I am about myself for what I achieved in the past few months. My life is balanced. I focus on the good and make sure that I have a healthy work-life balance. I take care of myself and that is all that matters. Yes, there are still areas where I have to work on but overall I'm pretty happy about my life when it comes to "balance".

Here on this page I also added all those bits and pieces I got from Collen Attara when I ordered a salvaged word last year. That quote on the right and also the "balance" tag was part of her package she sent. I also included the "yout got this" sticker from my word talisman I bought from SoulMantras.com.

You might notice that I skipped the October prompt. That prompt just didn't felt right and I had no time to work on it. So I simply didn't do it and I'm totally okay with that. That's also balance. To realize when it's just not the right time to do something.

Day in the Life™ Album | November 2017

Two weeks ago I documented another Day in my Life. This time I decided to keep it super simple for my album. I created some 3x4 cards (inspired by these from Ali Edwards), added my photos on top (they are a little bit smaller than 3" squares) and made a 4x4 card for my text. I copied the text from my blog post (and translated it to German). At the end I included my spreads in my personal Project Life® album. 

All embellishments except the ampersand paper (which was from a past Week in the Life® kit) comes from the "details" Story Kit / Stamp. That kit was such a good one. So perfect for my memory keeping. To make my pages a bit lighter I included a see through element, a piece of vellum in a pocket.

Day in the Life™ | November 2017

On a whim I decided to document another Day in the Life™ this past Friday, November 3. The "official" Day in the Life™ was on Thursday, November 2. I didn't plan to participate but when I was looking through some older minibooks on Thursday evening, I realized, it's been a year since my last Day in the Life™. So the idea was born, and because I never documented a Friday before, it was set.

I really like the "one-photo-per-hour" approach but this time I used the lense of "-ing" words like making, going, eating,... to document my day. This is, what Ali did in August. I wrote down a few -ing words I definitely wanted to cover at the beginning of the day but besides that, I was just looking for things I did throughout the day that I could document with a photo.

Today I share my photos and words with you. They are in chronological order although I'm not sure, if that will stay, when I print the photos to document my day. I will include my photos and words into my personal Project Life® album and will get it done in the next two weeks (I still have to work on my Week in the Life™ album from April, so that's not going to happen with this project as well...).

WEARING | it's my day off, so I'm wearing lounge wear. Sport tights, shirt and handknitted cardigan.

EATING | we ran out bread, so it was a yoghurt and granola breakfast with some leftover zucchini bread and a cup of coffee.

DRINKING | I drink tap water all day long. 

LISTENING | to the Slow Home Podcast (my fave!) while folding laundry.

READING | blog posts from my feedly list. I like that I get an overview in my feedly with all recent blog post of my favorite blogs. If something catches my eye, I open the post, if I'm not interested in it, I mark it as read.

PLANNING | our meals for the next 7 days.

FEELING | excited about this happy mail day. I received my two December Kits I bought from Kelly Purkey. I shared an unboxing here on Instagram.

EATING | salad for lunch.

GOING | on a 20 minutes walk after lunch. That's something I started two weeks ago and I don't want to break the chain.

WATCHING | some past Story Kit™ videos. They are always so inspiring.

LOVING | our Friday afternoon tradition to get some treats (coffee, something sweet) before we tackle our weekly groceries shopping trip.

WEARING | beforeI left the house I had to change in some proper clothes. Especially love my new shoes.

DOCUMENTING | what I wear in the Cladwell App. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I truly love it.

MAKING | our dinner. I love to stand in the kitchen and prepare something delicious to eat.

EATING | dinner together with my boyfriend. We had meatloaf with mashed potatoes

PLAYING | Win for Life, where you can win 20 years of CHF 4000 per month. We don't often play, but it's fun from time to time.

One Little Word® 2017 | August + September

This year with my One Little Word® Balance is soon coming to an end. It was fun to work with it and I learned a lot about myself. But like every year around this time I start to think about the word for next year. So far nothing has been decided. There are a few words that I'm considering, but those plans can change about a hundred times in the next few weeks.

Today I share my August and September spreads with you.

August was about documenting how our life was right now, what we are celebrating and what we are struggling with. We had to pick photos and write about those things.

 

September was about paying attention. Documenting what gives us joy, how we rest and writing about our own pace. We also had to find photos that fit the theme. As always I like to focus on the prompt throughout the month and then at the end of the month (or a few weeks later) I document it in my minibook.
