Today I share my June and July pages from my One Little Word®* album. Both prompts are ones that we also did last year and it's always interesting to look back to see how I interpreted them the last time (you can find both prompts from last year here).
June was all about answering a few questions about where we are right now on our journey with our word. I always love this prompt. It not only marks the halfway point but also shows how well connected I am with my word I picked. This year I didn't have to say that much. I'm not quite sure why though because I have a good connection with my word.
That quote on the last page is from a past story kit from Ali Edwards and works so well with my word. This is what balance is.
July is always a fun prompt. We had to pick some phrases as a guidance troughout the month. It also was a creative prompt where we got invited to get messy. I like that.
My first goal was to GO OUTSIDE and spend less time on my computer or scrolling through my Instagram feed. It worked very well. We went on a few evening walks, we almost always ate outside, I spent many hours in my garden and we also went on a hike.
The second goald was to MAKE NO PLANS AND RELAX. Just to be clear, I like to make plans, I love to write a list and it makes me happy to cross of stuff from my to do list. But the problem is, that sometimes, I put too much on my plate. I try to make everything and then get frustrated when I can't finish all the things. So I tried this experiment to make no plans and no lists, just living from day to day. And it was okay. I ended up with just one to do list and nothing more. One of the things I realized is that a list helps. It helps to get those thoughts off my brain onto paper. This way I can calm down and don't have to think about it all the time. So I guess the bottom line is that I have to find a healthy balance between writing a list and being okay with not finishing everything.
