One Little Word 2015: December

Create Share Love | One Little Word Quality December 1

My journey with QUALITY comes to an end. For twelve months this word was part of my everyday and I worked with and on it throughout the year. Like OPEN (my word in 2014), this word will stay with me, although I'm not constantly thinking about it.

This year it was less intense than last year with OPEN but it still changed me in some ways.

For the last prompt of the year, we had to pick a photo of ourselves, fill out a facts, feelings and lesson learned worksheet and write down our thoughts about some "I..." statements.

What I learned with my word this year is that I really want to have good quality in all areas of my life. I like to support small handmade businesses, I like to spend quality time with myself or with my boyfriend, I don't need much stuff in my life and don't buy things I don't really need but it's also a constant work in progress. Sometimes it's so much easier to just go out and eat dinner at BurgerKing when you don't want to cook. Sometimes I just went to H&M and bought something new although that isn't something I call good quality.

In the end, it is very important to me to invite quality in my life but it can also be overwhelming from time to time when you want to make everything perfect. That's not natural and also not possible. I guess, what I learned most can be said in one sentence: Quality is important, but don't forget the fun.

I already picked my word for 2016 and I hope it'll help me to bring back some fun in my life again (hint: fun isn't my word for 2016 - although I considered it).

At the beginning of the year I bought a whole heart pocket talisman and a small and big salvaged word with my word. I added those things (except the big salvaged word which is on my vision board) to the back of my mini album.

The pocket talisman came in a small bag which I sewed directly onto the cardboard and it holds the talisman now.

I not only picked my word for 2016 but I also signed up for the class again. Until December 31st it's only $26 and it's a class I can highly recommend. Although Ali Edwards offers some great products this year I will use a 5x7 minibook again next year. My minibook is made of white cardstock and cardboard for the back and front. The sturdy cardboard comes from old notepads.
