One Little Word 2015: November

Create Share Love | One Little Word Quality November 1

It's the second last time I show you my One Little Word Album for 2015. I can't believe how fast the time went by. It's always the same. At the beginning of the year it seems there are so many months left and then by October it feels like the months are flying by.

This month was about looking back and choosing photos that represent my word QUALITY. I picked eight photos and added some words.

Becaue I am working with a 5x7 inch minibook I had to make my own page protector. I usually use a 6x8 page protector, cut it down to the correct size and sew it together with my sewing machine.

The quote on the left is a free printable that came with the One Little Word class.

I also used the "heart" and "this photo" stamps from the stamp set that came with the One Little Word Mini Kit.

On my reflections page (which also comes as a free printable with the class) I talked about the fact that I'm not trying to focus on new things this month but that I'm currently reflecting what went well on my journey with quality.

I already picked my word for 2016 and will definitely sign up for the class again as soon as it'll be available. I also ordered a whole heart pocket talisman and a salvaged word with my word like I did for quality this year. Those products are made with love and I like to make my word visible in my home.

*One Little Word® is a concept created by Ali Edwards where you pick a word at the beginning of the year and you work with your word on a year long journey. You can find out more about it here.

PAPIERPROJEKT - Thank You Card Set

Create Share Love | Papierprojekt Moment Stempel Card Kit 9

Today I show you a simple card set you can make with the Moment-Stempel from PAPIERPROJEKT. This set works really well as a gift too. When you know someone who loves to write cards but doesn't have the time to make the cards, this set of six thank you cards with matching envelopes is a good idea.

All you need for this project is a set of six cards and matching envelopes, a piece of self-adhesive paper, ink pads (I used black, blue, beige and yellow) and the Moment-Stempel Von Herzen (English version is also available: with love), Pop Art and Magical.

First I stamped the background pattern onto the white card, then I used the "Danke" stamp (there is also a "Thanks" stamp available) and my black ink pad to stamp over the pattern.

Then I stamped onto the envelope. The small envelope stamp on the top right and "von mir für Dich" (there is also a "from me to you" stamp available) where you have to add the address. I handdraw some lines below.

I also decided to make round stickers for the back of the envelope. I used self-adhesive paper and stamped onto it with some patterned stamps.

Then I used a 1.5inch puncher to punch out some circles.

The circles are great for the back of your envelope. You could also cut stripes instead of circles.

And now you can use your cards yourself or give them away.

Please note: I got these stamps for free, but I only support what I love and would also buy.

Finished Quilt

Create Share Love | Umbrella Prints Quilt

This is my fourth quilt I made and it took me over a year to finish it. It took me so long because I didn't work on it all the time. Sometimes I sat down several days in a row and then let it sit for another few months. There were always other projects that came in between so the quilt had to wait.

But today I am happy to announce, that I finally completed it. The finished quilt is 130cm x195cm (about 51 x 77 inches) big and the squares measure 10.5cm x10.5cm (a bit more than 4 inch).

The top is made with fabric from Umbrella Prints, for the back I used a simple white cotton fabric and the binding is a striped black and white cotton fabric.

The quilting is super simple. Just straight lines along the edges of the squares. (oh and in this photo you can see where I made a mistake. I tried to not put two squares with the same pattern next to each other but somehow I totally missed these two).

At first I wasn't 100% sure about the mix of the patterned fabric but now I am super happy about how this quilt turned out. I also love that it is long enough to cover up my whole body while laying on the couch.

So far I always handstitched the binding onto my quilt. This time I used my sewing machine to add the binding. I was way faster but the hanstitched binding looks a lot better though. The binding is far from perfect but it's okay.

(and now I'm already thinking about my next quilt. There is a stack of pretty Umbrella Prints fabric which I bought over a year ago, waiting for me to be made into a quilt.)
