enjoying the extra daylight we got with turning the clock forward yesterday, but not loving the lack of sleep I get.

starting to go through all of our stuff before moving. The goal is to purge (or set aside for a future instasale) everything I don't use and need anymore.

listening to some great podcast episodes. I'm really into the Woolful Podcast and I love listening to every episode from the Creative Start Podcast (which also has an awesome Instagram account)

thinking about creating a Twitter account. Still debating with myself if this is something I need or something that just isn't necessary.

working on my details minibook which I absolutely love. You can still sign up for the class over at Studio Calico. I can't wait to try out image transfer as soon as this pen arrives.

talking about how I balance my day job with my creative side. Read the whole interview on Delaney Paige's blog

feeling so inspired by the class material that comes with my Story Kit subscription

changing one of my goals

Create Share Love | Changing one of my Goals

For this blog post was something completely different planned and already ready to go live. I wanted to talk about an awesome minibook class I’m taking right now but this has to wait until Monday because I have some exciting news to share.

We are moving in June to a new home. We are moving into a house!

One of the goals I set myself for 2015 was to buy a house. Buying a house in Switzerland is not easy. The biggest issue is the prize. You have to have a huge amount of money in cash. And then it’s also extremely difficult to find the right one. Really good houses are gone in like 5 minutes or they don’t even show up on the internet because the owners are selling them to people they know. We started to freak out a little bit because we made ourself a huge pressure. But then we talked. And we decided it’s also okay if we don’t find a house to buy this year. It’s okay to rent a house first.

So we started looking for a house to rent. Which isn’t easy (and cheap) as well and one of the biggest problems is, that there aren’t many houses to rent.

In mid March our current landlord told us he wanted to build a flat above us. A flat in our current attic. This would not only mean, we couldn’t use our attic anymore but also that we’ll have a huge construction noise for several months. This was the moment we decided, we have to finally leave our apartment. Because we knew, there weren’t any houses out there yet to rent (in our area), we were ready to move into a new apartment.

As chance would have it exactly at that moment (or a few days later, but let’s keep it to exactly that moment) a house was advertised for rent. This was right before my Florence trip. The photos weren’t that good, but the description of the house, the prize and the size were really good. So we decided to take a look at it in real life after my vacation if it was still available.

It was and last Saturday (March 21) we visited the house. And it is perfect. It has 5 rooms; a bedroom, a living room, a room for me and my hobby, a room for my boyfriend and his hobby and another room - of course there is also a kitchen and a bathroom as well as a small second toilet, an attic and a cellar. It has a double garage and a huge terrace. It stands in the middle of nature and we love that. Right now we live next to a busy street in the centre of our city - constant noise included.

After visiting the house we wanted it so badly and yesterday evening we signed the lease contract. We are now officially living in a house from July.

Our future neighbor (the family who owns the house) has a farm and one of the kids has 20 chickens (fun story - he wanted a goat for his Birthday, but his parents didn’t want one. So he got some chickens). I always wanted to have chickens. Now I wont’ have my own but I’ll have them right next to me.

Because we are moving in June I won’t start a balcony garden this year but next to our garage there is a small garden where I plan to plant some vegetables as soon as things have settled down a little bit.

And yes, there will also be some photos to share. When we’ll get the keys in June, the first thing we’ll do (at my request) is to take some decent photos of the whole house.

We are so so excited and we can’t wait to move! Happy Weekend.

Project Life 2015: February

As I mentioned in this blog post I will change things up a little bit for 2015. This year I will no longer complete weekly spreads but I'm focusing on a monthly/theme based documenting and I want to tell more stories.

Like last month I created some sort of title card. I think I'll do one for every month.

Instead of adding a filler card to the front and the back I decided to keep the pocket clear and only add some small embellishments. With my Tiny Attacher I attached the "Here" and I sewed the top of the pocket to close it.

Combining the same story from different days is something I really love to do.

Through the Lens: Florence

01

I spent last week in Florence with my sister. We had an amazing time together and we felt in love with this city. Next week I talk more about where we stayed, which sights we visited, where we ate delicious lunch and dinner and where we bought some great souvenirs.
But for today, I let the photos speak.

Vacation

Vacation

Tomorrow I'll leave Switzerland for vacation. Together with my sister I go to Florence. The weather forecast is not that good. Rain on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. But we'll make the best of it.

I'll be back with regular blog posts in ten days.
