iPhone: I use the app week calendar on my phone for all my appointments. It automatically syncs with my calendar on my mac. Because my phone is the only tool which is always with me (think going out for dinner and only having a small clutch with you) so it was obvious for me to use my phone as my calendar for appointments.
projects notebook: in here I keep my notes about projects I'm working on, ideas for future projects, plans, just everything projects related. I wrote more about it here.
blog planner: my blog planner is used to organize my blog posts and ideas for future blog posts. (I talked about it here)
notebook: this is the place where I keep monthly, weekly and daily to-do lists, notes and ideas. One place for everything. If I have a thought and I have to write it down somewhere, it goes right into my notebook. If I see an interesting book I want to read, it goes into my notebook. I have my notebook with me on a daily basis (unless my purse is too small) and if I have an idea about a blog post it goes into my notebook.
I use a Leuchtturm colored notebook in turquoise. They also have some great pen loops I use as well.
I loosely follow some ideas of the bullet journal (I keep an index, all pages are numbered, I start the month with an overview,...).
The index is what keeps everything together. Here I can easily find what I'm looking for.
This is the overwiev of the month. On the left I created a calendar and wrote down the deadlines for the month. On the right side I have my monthly to do's. Things I need to do during the month that aren't linked to a certain date.
Following the monthly overview comes the weekly overview. First I write down all the things I need to do in this week. And then I break it down again to daily tasks. Completed tasks get highlighted. I sometimes use stars or arrows to mark the most important tasks.
When there are more steps required to complete a task I make sub-tasks. Like for example:
Habit blog post
- edit blog post
- write and publish blogpost
When the sub-tasks are completed the main task gets highligted.
What I like about this system is I can turn the page and make notes about something or plan things like layout ideas or blog post ideas. I normally use my projects notebook for this but when I'm on the go I use my journal to jot down ideas.
I also keep a list of books I want to read someday in my notebook.
