I started to read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin last year in July. Then I stopped reading it at page 212. Back then I knew the time will come that I want to pick it up again. Four weeks ago was that time and I finished the book. Although it took me so long it is still one of my favorite non-fiction books I read. I really like the advice you get and also that it inspires me to seek for happiness in my own life. There are so many beautiful quotes in this book that I kept underlining the words every few pages. One that will stick with me is: "You hit a goal, you keep a resolution." This definitely started to change my view about goals and resolutions.
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel might win the prize for the best fiction book I read this year. I know, the year isn't over yet, but this is such a good one. Totally different but also really moving and I kept turning the pages. It's about the life after the world ends and that's a story I haven't read so far. I love that the story is told from several views from the main characters which makes it fascinating and really interesting.
The third book I recently read is Building a Business by Elise Blaha Cripe and Maggie Whitley. They share everything about how to build or improve your own handmade business in this book. I don't have a handmade business and don't plan to build one anytime soon. But I like to make stuff for friends and family. I don't account my time but want to cover all expenses I have (except when it's a gift of course) and in this book I learned how to price the products correctly. This book is an easy read but you you get many prompts to think about. They will inspire you to take your business to the next level or help you to do it right from the beginning on.
I'm currently reading The Moment of Everything by Shelly King. What are you reading? Any recommendations I should read next?
