In the past four weeks I worked on another striped scarf for a friend. You can always follow my progress on Instagram. This scarf is very similar to the one I knitted last year. I mostly knit in the evenings while watching television or listening to a podcast.
The finished scarf is 23.5cm (9.25inches) wide and 182cm (71inches) long. I used 6 skeins of yarn (Lana Grossa Linea Pura) and needles in size 5.5 (size 9 in the US).
This scarf was knitted in garter stitch. You only knit knit stitches. So simple but I like the look of it.
I didn't measure the color blocks, I just knitted as long as the ball of yarn was.
What I really like about garter stitches is that the sides don't curl like when you use stockinette stitch (knit stitch on one side, purl stitch on the other).
I knitted this scarf for a friend so this is the perfect excuse to create a small "thank you" card.
I cut down a patterned paper to 2x3.25 inches and stamped on the front "Thank You" and "Create Share Love". On the back I stamped my contact information (blog, email, instagram).
