At the beginning of every year I'm always full of dreams about "this year I'm gonna make one project a month" or "this is the year I'm gonna do this and that" but when January is over, those thoughts are lost in my brain. I keep doing the things I'm familiar with and don't take any riskes.
But this year it was a little bit different. Around March I had the idea of doing a birthday challenge. I was turning 27 on May 2nd and that was the starting point. The goal is to create 27 handmade items I've never done before in the year I'm 27.
I called this project create.share.love. - 27 handmade items, announced it on Instagram and shared my first project over there. For my blog I renamed this project and shortened it because the original title create.share.love is now the name of my blog. I think 27 handmade items fits perfectly.
For my first item I choose to make an abstract acrylic painting. It was the first time that I painted something abstract on a huge canvas.
With acrylic paint you have to paint fast if you want to blend the different colors into each other because the paint dries very quickly. This project took me around 30 minutes and I like the vibe of it.
The possibilities are endless. You just have to change the colors and your finished product looks totally different. I already made 2 other paintings and I'm sure I'll do them from time to time again. I just need a person who is willing to take them. (not that I'm asking everyone I know if they want an original painting from me.)
